Austin Ranks 2nd in Best in Job Markets in the Nation

Mar 25 2011 by Emily Matthews

Ajilon Professional Staffing has named Austin the second best city to find a job in the U.S., according to a U.S. Department of Labor statistics analysis. The firm took the city’s low unemployment rate, business fields & number of businesses hiring, and over education levels as some of the factors in determining its ranking.

This isn’t the first time Austin has ranked high on flattering lists. Last month the Business Review USA ranked Austin one of the eight best places to live and work in the U.S. Forbes Magazine named the city the third best job market in the U.S. in January 2011. It also ranked Austin No. 1 in 2010 for economic recovery, 8th best for business and careers, #2 most innovative and 10th best place for for young professionals, among many other rankings.

It is a shame to read and watch national television and all of its reports of an economic downfall, but comforting to know that Austin is one of the strongest cities and is forecasted to stay that way.
