Two of my favorite events are happening this weekend.
The 4th Annual Ice Cream Festival is taking place tomorrow, August 14th from 10:00am – 7:00pm at Waterloo Park. Admission is $5.00, kids under 8 get in free.
There will be games, activities, contests and live entertainment including an ice cream eating contest with special guest competitive eating champion Joey Chestnut who’s known for winning four consecutive Nathan’s Hot Dog eating contests. Ice cream vendors including Amy’s Ice Cream, Marble Slab, Austin Scoops and Cool Haus will be there scooping out delishnesses for $1.00 a scoop. There will also be other vendors serving food and all things Austin.

I have to admit, I’m little more excited that Austin Fashion Week starts this weekend. Every year Austin’s fashion industry gets together to organize this weeklong event including fashion shows, parties, trunk shows and ending with the Austin Fashion Awards. What I love the most is that boutiques all over Austin participate so not only are you engaging in the fashion world, but you’re also getting to explore cool shops in different parts of Austin.
